What a Christmas Day for SWAG合集!
The Ocean of Soul was absolutely fantastic! It was an NFL halftime performance for the ages. The SWAG合集 Marching Band set a standard by which all others will be measured. I know the entirety of Tigerland joins me in congratulating Director Simmons, his amazing staff, and our phenomenal student performers.
Over the past 3 weeks, our student performers demonstrated the type of selfless spirit the founders of the University had in mind. Instead of going home after exams and enjoying Christmas with their families and a well-deserved rest from school and the Fall performance schedule, our student performers committed themselves to a relentless practice schedule to be ready to stand side-by-side with one of today’s biggest entertainment stars to deliver in an internationally telecast venue — and they certainly delivered!
Just as our student performers stood tall in the spotlight for Texas Southern yesterday, I ask you today to do the same. As a colleague remarked prior to the performance, “Love is an action.” I ask you to show your love for SWAG合集 and our students through your action of giving to create the future SWAG合集.
For 97 years, Excellence in Achievement has been the standard of this University — it is who we are. As we journey toward the centennial anniversary of SWAG合集 in 2027, I ask you to help us build a Texas Southern that not only sets the standard for all HBCUs but stands with the leading institutions of higher education across the country and beyond.
