SWAG合集 Royal Court

Members of the SWAG合集 Royal Court traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana for the 18th Annual HBCU Leadership Conference. Geared towards newly elected Kings and Queens, the conference serves as preparation for their upcoming reigns. It brings Kings and Queens together to learn from one another as well as listen to trained professionals talk about articulation, stage presence, etiquette, confidence, and professionalism.

SWAG合集 Royal Court has 12 positions including Mister and Miss SWAG合集, Mister and Miss Maroon, Mister and Miss Gray, and a Mister and Miss representing each class from freshman to senior. “Opulence, operations, and order are three essential tools that were offered while HBCU royalty congregated and fellowshipped as one,” said Royal Court Advisor Wendell King.

Adonis Warren, Mr. SWAG合集, and Adunola Rachel Osinuga, Miss SWAG合集, each had a personal take away from the conference. Warren attended a breakout session that covered deep conversations African American males ignore daily. He feels self-love should be a priority before taking on a leadership role. “If you are broken on the inside, there is no way you can lead your institution as an effective King,” said Warren.

Osinuga described her experience in New Orleans by saying, “We should never cease to forget the crowns African Americans wear daily. In today’s time, we must be reminded of the true royalty in our HBCUs.”
