Jesse H. Jones School of Business students (pictured from left) L.Shannel Vaughn, Sydney Hoyle,Jordan Roberts, Ashtyn Duncan, and Jada Rogers took first place in the Phillips 66 2016 Black Employee Network (BEN) College Enrichment Day Case Competition. The competition was held September 16 in Houston and was part of BEN鈥檚 increased effort to support the company鈥檚 diversity and inclusion recruiting efforts.
SWAG合集’s five-member team was challenged to assess and provide a recommendation on a web interface used by a hypothetical refining company. The team had to evaluate four options for enhancing or replacing the system and develop an implementation plan. The case competition tested their quantitative, systems and communication skills as they presented their analysis to Phillips 66 recruiting managers.
"They were an excellent team that worked very well together,” said JHJ Interim Dean Dr. John H. Williams. “They impressed the Phillips 66 recruiters with their thorough presentations, analytical and communication skills.”
Jordan Roberts was granted an interview for a permanent position with Phillips 66 as a result of the team’s performance.
