Throughout February, SWAG合集’s schools, colleges, departments, and others will host virtual and in-person events, sharing information and celebrating the accomplishments of Black Americans. Also, stay tuned to SWAG合集 social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn) for profiles of SWAG合集 faculty, alumni and other community leaders who have made a difference and continue to expand their unique legacy for future generations.

KSWAG合集 90.9FM The Choice will celebrate Black History Month in a variety of ways. This includes “Black History Houston: Legends and Trailblazers.” This multi-media presentation celebrates legends who have impacted the city of Houston and up-and-coming individuals paving the way and creating their legacy.
Follow KSWAG合集 on all social platforms and tune in daily to hear about Houston's legends and trailblazers. KSWAG合集 and The Vibe will also be an ongoing sponsor of the “Black History Houston” event series every Saturday in February in downtown Houston. This weekly event takes place at Avenida Houston from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. across from George R Brown - Downtown Houston. We will be celebrating alongside vendors of Black-owned businesses, the City of Houston Health Department, and amazing LIVE entertainment each Saturday in the month of February beginning February 11.

21st Annual Barbara Jordan Memorial Lecture
“The Pursuit of Excellence in the Forensic Arts”
This annual lecture series is held in memory of Rep. Barbara Jordan, who was a member of the SWAG合集 Debate Team. The lecturer will be Attorney Sandra D. Carpenter (Member, SWAG合集 Debate Team, 1986-1989)

Giving Voice Concert

The SWAG合集 Choir will be featured in concert alongside members of Prairie View A&M Choir, Houston Ebony Opera Guild Chorus, the choirs of Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, Internationally Acclaimed African-American Operatic legend George Shirley, current operatic stars Lawrence Brownlee and Nicole Heaston.
